when too much happens,
it's tough putting 'em in words, or rather sentences.
well, it's the long holidays for me right now (finally)
and i'm so thrilled about what's to come.
for now? i gotta say the festive mood was utterly disappointing,
not that i was expecting anything fantastic from a festival like the Lunar New Year.

visiting time -
i finished two books during the car rides,
regardless of how sick anyone reading in the car might feel.
serious - try reading during transportation on road.
i didn't mind puking all over and stay home.
but still, the pro about the whole thing this year?
$326
at least this sums up a lil' something to ease that edginess during this period.
gag!

on the brighter side, there are things better than i expected for the lunar new year -
catching Just Follow Law at midnight with Zach,
watching my friends winning at mahjong & blackjack,
winning my cousins at Need for Speed's most wanted on the Xbox, (haha, i feel the youth in me)
getting unseemingly huge hong baos (people are getting rich these days),
and checking out the 4D numbers on teletext for my mom.
the second time in her life she got it!
there there.
she could have at least treated me to lunch right?
lol.

well,
before the lunar new year,
my boyfriend and i patronised Jack's Place.
and it's just the kind of ideal customer service anyone would want.
we ordered ONE set (inclusive of a 1.tea/coffee 2.soup of the day 3.dessert of the day)
and at the end of our main course,
they served the tea and dessert.
they must have made a mistake,
for they served us a tea & a coffee,
and 2 plates of apple crumble.
i asked the cute waiter to double check,
for we ordered one set.
he said, "Oh, yes. You both ordered only one set. Let this be on the house."
let's just say it was a lil' something that made our day.

the day before we had Jack's Place,
we were in town and many restaurants were having specials for the valentines'.
just to avoid the crowd, we decided to try out Billy Bombers,
instead of his choice of The Manhattan's Fish Market.
but it turned out to be a plain terrible sour experience for the both of us.
they had only two choices of set meals which costed over 30 bucks per pax,
and the way they placed it on the pathetic piece of paper,
the way anyone would read, it meant the 30 bucks were for 2 pax.
to add on to the confusion,
we had this waitress in bad english to explain things.
the few sentences from her were, "Today kitchen close" and "Only got this menu"
and when we tried very much to clarify if the portion was big or small,
i could only say her reply was darn amusing,
"One person eat also can; two person eat also can."
we didn't quite get an answer, did we?
fortunately there was another couple who came in to draw her attention,
and the both of us sneaked OUT of Billy Bombers.

by that time we were really pressed for time,
for we were catching the Epic Movie (too lame for anyone) in 45min time.
in that sort of dire situation,
we ended up at Thai Express,
since it sounds more express than Manhattan.
the menu had lesser choices like may restaurants,
but at least we had choices (unlike Bombers which had some pathetic choices)
and i got my Tapioca dessert all the same.
perfect.

bonne nuit.
